Platform for collaboration
With the aim of strengthening the sustainable finance ecosystem in Lithuania, in April 2024, the ŽFI established the Sustainable Finance Forum.
The goal of this Forum is to create a continuous stakeholder cooperation platform dedicated to discussing the most relevant green finance issues in Lithuania, identifying existing challenges, and seeking solutions.
This is an advisory Forum with the following objectives:
- To develop the sustainable finance ecosystem in Lithuania.
- To strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors and encourage private investment in Lithuania’s transition to a green economy.
- To promote the growth of green finance.
- To enhance the attractiveness of Lithuania’s jurisdiction for developing sustainable businesses.
- To exchange information on ongoing or planned activities, relevant updates, identified challenges, and to share best practices.
The Forum acts as a moderator, helping to focus discussions on the most important issues that require active engagement from both the private and public sectors, as well as effective collaboration in identifying challenges, seeking solutions, and implementing them.
Within the Forum, thematic working groups are established to address relevant issues and share best practices. These groups operate as long as there is a need—that is, until the specific problem they were formed to address is resolved.
Working groups meet at least twice a year. The ŽFI serves as the secretariat and prepares documents (such as guidelines, formal requests for clarification, etc.) based on the needs identified within the working groups. To encourage active participation, the working groups are led by representatives of institutions for whom the identified issues are most relevant.
